The Stuart Canvas Team grows with the business

As Stuart Canvas look to the future, it’s inevitable the Stuart Canvas Team must grow, in line with the market demand and our aspirations. We’re proud to be active in UK Manufacturing and pleased to continuing to be recruiting in the North West, as we have for over 45 years.

We love welcoming new people to the #StuartCanvasTeam so when two newbies joined on the same day in the middle of July we were delighted!

Now they’re a month in and getting to know the business inside and out. Let me introduce our new recruits;

Meet Dionne

Meet Dionne, our new Sales Coordinator. Originally from Coventry, Dionne is currently still taking in all the joys of the North. From Birchwood shopping park to the delights of Warrington, including JFT and good old Billdum’s canteen.
Dionne’s been working hard to get into the swing of things and has dived straight into optimising the use of software at Stuart Canvas. She will be assisting the Sales and Accounts managers in optimising their working processes. She’s even organised our MacMillan Coffee morning (keep a watch on our Twitter, Facebook & Instagram to see our best baking efforts on the 29th September 2017).

Meet Rachel

Meet Rachel. Rachel is the new marketing executive for Stuart Canvas. Having come from an online background, Rachel will be looking at new ways to enhance our marketing activity. Both online and offline marketing are within Rachel’s role. Originally from Liverpool, Rachel is also discovering the delights of the North West this part of the M62 and has also enjoyed a cheeky Billdum’s or two.
Rachel has already started looking for our next marketing opportunities and is also excited to share some of our biggest and most exciting projects with you. Follow our social media and keep reading our blog to hear more.

How’s life at Stuart Canvas?

So after a month in the role. How are they feeling about their new start? We put the following questions to Rachel and Dionne;

How are you feeling about your new role?

Rachel: I’m loving my new role, there’s lots to do so I’m busy and will not be getting bored anytime soon! This is a whole new industry for me. It’s interesting to hear about the different markets we’re active in, learn about our products and plan our marketing activity in the future. I feel like I’ve still got so much to learn but I’m sure it’ll come in time –especially with the support of the team here.

Dionne: Learning and understanding the sales processes of the company and adapting them to make them more efficient has been extremely interesting. It’s crazy to see how many different places our products are used which makes me eager to learn more and keen to help find more markets to break into. My new role is exciting and no two days are the same. I am loving all the new challenges I am faced with on a day to day basis.

What do you think of Stuart Canvas?

Rachel: Stuart Canvas is a lovely environment to work in, despite being pretty fast paced, especially during the busier months, everyone here has been really friendly. This has really helped me to hit the ground running, everyone is really happy to share their knowledge and chat about any queries you might have, so training for Dionne and I has been accelerated a lot by being surrounded by a fantastic team.
There are plenty of big personalities, especially within the manufacturing team but there really is a lovely “team work” element here –something which is so important in business. Oh, and one last thing –the biscuit cupboard is to die for!
Dionne: Stuart Canvas has a great work ethic and everybody is really friendly and easy to get along with. The environment is super relaxed but at the same time everybody is hard working and all push to get the job done. It was great to start on the same day as Rachel as both the roles are new to the company so we have been able to learn and bounce ideas off each other from the start. The team has all been open to new ideas and suggestions that we have both had which is great and makes our lives so much easier.

Are you feeling part of the Stuart Canvas Team?

Rachel: Yes, definitely feeling part of the team now! –I felt initiated after my first Billdum’s lunch! But really, everyone has been really welcoming –it’d be hard to not feel like one of the Stuart Canvas gang.
Dionne: Life at Stuart Canvas has been really easy to settle into. Everybody has been so welcoming and forthcoming with sharing knowledge and getting myself and Rachel up to speed.

Now we’ve addressed some of the formalities; we’ve researched some of the oddest ice-breaker questions and put them to Dionne and Rachel –and trust me you’re going to love this.

Name 3 people you’d invite to a dinner party

Rachel: Usher (entertainment), Marco Pierre White (I’m not the best cook…) and Sarah Millican (who wouldn’t want a lovely, north-east Comedienne present?!)
Dionne: Beyoncé, Antony Joshua and James Cordon –he’s a good laugh!

Describe your life in a film title

Rachel: I’d like it to be “It’s a Wonderful Life” –not only is it an excellent Christmas film (I love Christmas) but it’s definitely in-fitting with my latest goal to be more positive!
Dionne: The Hangover, don’t worry never on a week day!

If you were an animal, what would you be and why?

Rachel: I’d probably be a dog. I like people and I’m quite lively, so maybe a Springer Spaniel –however I’m not too outdoor-sy so maybe a little Maltese terrier, I’m cuddly.
Dionne: A toucan – They are bright and colourful and I love flying 😊

We’d like to wish Rachel & Dionne a warm welcome and best of luck at Stuart Canvas. We’re really looking forward to working alongside our new additions and are excited to have even more energy in our growing business.
