Manufacturing Manager

We are looking to recruit a dynamic, proactive individual, with a minimum of 5 years management / supervisory experience in a bespoke technical product manufacturing environment for our facility in Warrington. The successful candidate will have extensive planning and project management experience and will have a good understanding of, and been exposed to, procurement and the supply chain process.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning all production orders and works for the team of 25 employees. They will be responsible for maintaining the in-house MRP system, placing orders for materials with our suppliers, current manufacturing processes and quality control, including process improvement projects. They will also be responsible for managing site Health and Safety, HR and training issues for production employees and the recruitment and induction of new production staff.

The role will also involve working closely with senior management in planning for new technology and machinery. Preparing budgets and planning forecasts, monitoring production times / costs and maximising efficiencies from the production department.

 Manufacturing Operative

 We are currently recruiting for Manufacturing Operatives with experience of small volume product manufacturing/production and general labouring duties for our facility in Warrington.

The successful candidates will join the existing team and be responsible for manufacturing, repairing, and cleaning various covers made from a range of fabrics and materials. The role will involve the use of hand tools, equipment, and machinery such as,

  • Hand and Floor Welders
  • Industrial Sewing Machines
  • High Frequency Welding Machines
  • Washers and processes such as, Measuring, Cutting, Sewing and Eyeleting.
  • The successful candidate will receive full product training and be expected to complete a comprehensive training programme within two years.

We are looking for:

  • Team player, working in a small team dynamic

  • Good at problem solving and identifying faults

Manufacturing Operative / Installer – Cricket

We are currently looking for a Manufacturing Operative / Installer to join our cricket team. The role offers a range of working environments. During the off season you will be required to manufacture, repair and clean covers at our facility in Warrington. During the season you will be working outdoors as part of the install team and required to install cricket covers and other cricket equipment at various venues throughout the UK.

Between the end of March and beginning of October you will be working outside most weeks on installs. The role will require you to stay away from home during most weeks and some weekends. For this period of working in addition to any overtime working rates there will be a fixed over-night allowance payable.

All other times you will join the existing team and be responsible for manufacturing, repairing, and cleaning various covers made from a range of fabrics and materials. The role will involve the use of hand tools, equipment, and machinery such as, Hand and Floor Welders, Industrial Sewing Machines, High Frequency Welding Machines, Washers and carrying out processes such as, Measuring, Cutting, Sewing and Eyeleting.

The successful candidate will receive full product training and be expected to complete a comprehensive training programme within two years.

Manufacturing Operative / Installer – Tennis

We are currently looking for a Sports Cover Installer to join our tennis team. The role offers a range of working environments. During the off season you will be required to clean repair and/or manufacture tennis covers at our facility in Warrington. During the tournament season you will be working outdoors as part of the install team and required to install tennis court covers at various venues throughout the UK, such as Wimbledon and Queens Tennis Club. Some European travel may also be required.

This means between the end of April until mid-July, during installs, and the months of August and September, for removals, the role will require you to stay away from home during most weeks and some weekends. On average you can expect to stay away from the factory/home for around 4 months of each year. For this period of working in addition to any overtime working rates there will be a fixed over-night allowance payable.

The successful candidate will receive full product training and be expected to complete a comprehensive training programme within two years.

Your main duties but not exclusive duties will be:

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning and repairing of tennis covers.
  • The safe handling, storage, loading and unloading of covers at Stuart Canvas and onsite at the various venues.
  • The safe installation and removal of covers, pipes and accessories onsite at various tennis venues.
  • You may also be required to carry out any other duties as and when the company shall require.

 Manufacturing Supervisor

 We are looking to recruit an individual, with supervisory experience within a bespoke, technical product manufacturing/production environment for our facility in Warrington. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate successful running of day-to-day operations through effective resource planning and people management. Experience of project management and process improvements, although not essential, would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising a small manufacturing team of 10 employees. They will be responsible for maintaining the quality of all manufactured products through routine inspections and ensure items are manufactured to agreed standards following in-house processes and procedures. They will also be responsible for staff training and maintaining training records, and for ensuring site Health and Safety rule are followed, leading by example. They will also support the Manufacturing Manager in the recruitment and induction of new production staff.

Industrial Sewing Machinist

We are currently looking for an Industrial Sewing Machinist to join a growing and highly successful, established company and become part of our busy manufacturing team. The role involves interpretation of drawings and templates, marking out, cutting, and then sewing various types of materials mainly heavy fabrics, PVC, and Canvas using an industrial sewing machine to produce a range of covers, panels, and sheets. The ideal candidate will be familiar operating both single and double stitch machines in a similar role and have experience of working with heavy fabrics or leather.

The role is based on 39-hour week, Monday to Friday with the opportunity for overtime when needed. We would also consider applications from individuals who have the relevant experience but may only want to work part time hours.

Your main duties but not exclusive duties will be:

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Reading and interpretation of drawings and templates.
  • Marking, cutting, and sewing heavy fabrics.
  • Use of an Industrial Sewing Machine.
  • Quality control of finished products.
  • You may also be required to carry out any other duties as and when the company shall require.

We are looking for:

  • Recent and relevant industrial sewing machines experience.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with heavy fabrics.
  • Able to work from simple drawings and templates.
  • Good eye for detail.
