Stuart Canvas Cricket has designed and installed an indoor cricket netting system for a brand-new state of the art facility built at the Amsterdam Sports Association VRA, home of the Dutch Cricket teams.  The netting system features a multiple-use three-lane retractable structure, which allows for numerous training session to take place at once.

We were able to produce a complete end-to-end service from the first concept to the installation, including our own designed ceiling-mounted tracking and cricket carpets and shock pads to provide the best-suited flooring, to create the correct bounce for optimum indoor practice for both batter and bowler.

The netting fits into the 28m x 14m space of the new hall, the system features a fixed celling net that stretches the full length of the hall, this prevents damage to the roofing of the hall even when the side netting is retracted.  It also prevents balls from becoming stuck in the netting which is a common issue with older style systems.  Each lane has built-in sightscreens on both the back and side ends to aid the bowler & batter.  We used our heavy-grade netting which is designed to absorb the high impact of a cricket ball creating a safe area for both players and coaches.

The VRA new indoor facility will allow for both international and club players to practice throughout the winter months.  The retractable nets allow for the new hall to be used for a wide range of training activities. The AAA status facility which is located within the picturesque Amsterdam forest is one of the oldest cricket clubs in the Netherlands and holds international matches annual as well as supporting all levels of cricket. The club prides its self on its unique club culture with wide range nationalities playing at the club.
