Stuart Canvas was approached by Van Elle to develop a bespoke weather protection solution for a ground-level aggregate storage hopper.
The hopper forms part of the aggregate loading process, leaving materials exposed to changing weather conditions during operations. Rainfall had the potential to introduce additional moisture into the aggregates.
Rather than using a permanent fixed enclosure, Stuart Canvas developed a retractable system that could provide protection when required while keeping the hopper accessible for loading and associated site activities.

A bespoke retractable weather protection system
Stuart Canvas developed a purpose-built retractable cover tailored to Van Elle’s existing ground-level storage hopper and operational requirements.
When extended, the system provides a protective enclosure over the hopper, helping shield the aggregates from rainfall and reducing the risk of additional water entering the materials.
When loading access is required, the cover can be retracted, allowing the working area to be opened up without the restrictions of a permanent structure.
